Dr. Sumar was born and raised in Bombay, India. He received his Doctorate of Medicine from Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences. In 1995 he moved to the United States with a quest to pursue his childhood dream to be a Cardiologist.
He completed his residency in Internal Medicine from Newark Beth Israel Hospital in New Jersey and continued on to do his fellowship in Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology at the Seton Hall University Program in New Jersey. Dr Sumar is board certified in Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology and Endovascular Medicine.
Dr. Sumar currently serves as Co-Chair of the Cardiology Committee at West Valley Hospital in Goodyear, AZ. He is also Chairman of Cardiology at IMS (Integrated Medical Services), Arizona.
In his spare time he loves watching sports. His favorite teams are the New York Yankees and the Phoenix Suns. He is married with two daughters.
