Vein Treatment Center

Do you experience leg pain, swelling, or varicose veins?

If so, you may be suffering from superficial venous reflux disease.  This common clinical condition affects approximately 25 million people in the United States. Due to the severity of symptoms, venous reflux often forces people to dramatically change their lifestyles, especially when they have standing professions and can no longer tolerate being on their feet all day.

What is venous reflux?

Venous insufficiency refers to the inability of deep, or superficial veins to allow venous circulation back to the heart from the legs. This is dueVenous Reflux to damaged venous valves and may result in several bothersome symptoms including pain, swelling, skin discoloration, restless legs, and in severe cases skin ulceration.

How is venous reflux treated?

There is good news about varicose vein treatment. Sonoran Heart offers venous ablation, a minimally invasive, outpatient procedure used in the treatment of the underlying cause of varicose veins and associated symptoms. Venous ablation is performed by administering heat Vein Ablationenergy within the affected vein in order to collapse, or 'ablate' the vein. This will redirect venous circulation to better functioning veins thereby improving symptoms of venous reflux.

What you can expect following venous ablation?

At Sonoran Heart, we offer venous ablation for the treatment of symptomatic venous reflux. While there can be cosmetic improvement as a result of venous ablation (before and after photos below), we determine candidacy for the procedure based on severity of clinical symptoms.

Before AblationAfter Ablation

Venous ablation is covered by most insurance companies. The procedure takes approximately 20 minutes and patients typically resume their normal daily activities within 24 hours.

If you are interested in learning more about the benefits and risks associated with venous ablation, or in determining if you are an appropriate candidate for treatment, please call Sonoran Heart Cardiovascular Specialists at 623-433-0202 to schedule an appointment.
